The Right Priorities
Although Jase Bolger’s experience is uncommon, his approach to state government is entirely common sense.
Jobs are #1
The most important issue for our families is jobs, so every decision made in Lansing should consider the impact on jobs. As a small business owner, Jase competes nationally and internationally every day. He knows what it takes to create jobs and compete for work because he does it every day.
Exercise Fiscal Discipline
Lansing cannot turn to our hard working families and complain government is "cut to the bone" while they build a new State Police Headquarters, expand welfare programs, and continue to provide themselves benefits taxpayers don’t get. As a husband, father, and small business owner, Jase knows what it is like to balance tough budgets. Jase believes especially in tough budget times, we must focus on priorities. In the state’s budget, that includes: Public Safety, infrastructure (roads), and education.
Tax Increases Hurt People
As the last six years have proven, we cannot tax our way to prosperity. The latest tax hikes in Michigan will mean less money for our families and fewer jobs for our workers. Politicians and government must not take more taxes from us to provide benefits to themselves that our families don't get.
We cannot help job seekers by hurting job providers. As a county commissioner, Jase stood tall against unfair tax increases and intrusive government regulations.
Public Service
As a county commissioner, Jase voted against and therefore never received a pay raise. Further, he declined his healthcare and all other optional benefits. That meant less money for Jase, but he believes public service should be about serving the public and not personal gain.
Strong Values
Through his family’s experience and personal faith, Jase is pro-life and supports the traditional definition of marriage between one man and one woman. As a hunter and CPL holder Jase strongly supports the Second Amendment.
